Caffeine may protect memory in women

I’ve been drinking coffee since I was a young adult, but it seems no matter how much I drink, I won’t gain any memory benefits from my caffeine intake. But women do:

Researchers found that women age 65 and older who drank more than three cups of coffee (or the equivalent in tea) per day had less decline over time on tests of memory than women who drank one cup or less of coffee or tea per day.

A good, possible memory aid for older women, and, as the researchers note, caffeine is relatively harmless as a substance.
Researchers are not sure why no similar positive effect was found in men.
