			<link>http://www.guideto.info/igotoconcerts/content/view/56/2/</link>
<description>On a night that featured Motley Crue and Aerosmith co-headlining the Hollywood Bowl, the legendary New York Dolls in a theater performance a few blocks away, and reggae/jungle/dub innovator Lee &quot;Scratch&quot; Perry also performing on the fabled Sunset Strip, few would have predicted under-the-radar icon Joan Jett to steal the evening's headlines.

			<title>Meet Nelly Furtado News Release</title>
			<link>http://www.guideto.info/igotoconcerts/content/view/18/2/</link>
			<description>
Two lucky people attending the 94th annual Grey Cup will have
the opportunity of a lifetime at this year&amp;rsquo;s big game, to be
played Nov. 19 at Canad Inns Stadium in Winnipeg.

Grey Cup organizers announced today that one fan and a guest
will get a chance to meet Canadian and international recording
sensation Nelly Furtado face-to-face.

Everyone attending this year&amp;rsquo;s game will be automatically
entered to meet Furtado, whose recent multi-platinum CD Loose
features No. 1 hits like Promiscuous and Maneater. One lucky name
will be announced during the first quarter of the game.

That person and a guest will be invited to come down to field
level to watch the 2006 Rogers Grey Cup Halftime Show, which will
feature Furtado as the headline entertainer. They will then get an
exclusive, V.I.P. meet-and-greet with Furtado following her
performance.

Furtado teamed with major producer Timbaland in 2006, to create
a diverse song collection on Loose. The multi-platinum release
showcases her versatility, creativity and hip-hop influence.

Furtado burst onto the music scene and international stage with
her debut album Whoa, Nelly! The album featured the timeless hit
I'm Like A Bird that went on to win her the 2001 Grammy for Best
Female Pop Vocal Performance and four Juno Awards, including Best
Single. Furtado won her fifth Juno for Song Of the Year for
Powerless (Say What You Want) on 2003's critically-acclaimed album
Folklore.

Furtado joins the ranks of previous Grey Cup halftime performers
The Black Eyed Peas, Bryan Adams, Sam Roberts, Shania Twain and The
Tragically Hip.

Tickets for the 94th Annual Grey Cup game and other Grey Cup
events are available on-line by visiting www.ticketmaster.ca or by
calling (204) 780-3333.

<title>Great Music All Week At the Grey Cup in Winnipeg</title>
			<link>http://www.guideto.info/igotoconcerts/content/view/19/2/</link>
			<description>
Check out this link for a Jam article summarizing the events of
the week. This is one week for sure, that it's great to be a
Winnipeger. Non stop music and a great party atmosphere. For me
it's Tom Cochrane, whose music I've recently connected with a
whole lot more.

			<title>Tom Cochrane gets reviewed</title>
			<link>http://www.guideto.info/igotoconcerts/content/view/61/2/</link>
<description> Great concert overall, but just a bit too mellow for me (that&amp;#39;s a personal thing) most of the time. The Winnipeg Symphony did fill out the sound and sitting at the far end of the arena from the stage, the sound mix was magical to even my untrained ears. They only got rockin&amp;#39; near the end. The highlight tune for me was Boy Inside the Man as the show finale. Reminder to self: Get up close if you want to feel the event. Great sound at a distance, but you feel distant, I found. 4 stars for execution overall. Enjoyed the evening. Here&amp;#39;s the Winnipeg Sun review 3.5 out of 5 (http://www.winnipegsun.com/Entertainment/Music/2006/11/19/2417129-sun.html) (http://www.winnipegsun.com/Entertainment/ConcertReviews/2006/11/19/2417129-sun.html) (http://www.winnipegsun.com/Entertainment/ConcertReviews/2006/11/19/2417129-sun.html) </description>

<title>Nelly Furtado-Was She Live In Winnipeg At The Grey Cup?</title>
			<link>http://www.guideto.info/igotoconcerts/content/view/63/2/</link>
<description>Was it all lip sync (reports from show
producer earlier had it being a lip sync for technical reasons) or
did she add a little realism and use a partial live mic. Some fans
thought it was so good it had to be live. It was different for a
Grey Cup and I enjoyed it too (from my living room)

<title>Eddie Money in Winnipeg March 09</title>
			<link>http://www.guideto.info/igotoconcerts/content/view/140/2/</link>
			<description>

We had two tickets in a mini paradise Friday night. And that's
what he played to lead off the show.

The Money Man played Winnipeg's Club Regent on Friday March 9. If
you've ever rocked to his songs from the 70's and 80's you would
have enjoyed his high energy 100 minutes of solid performances by
Eddie and his band.

He is touring in advance of a March 13 CD release, mostly covers
I'm told, which he previewed with &quot; You Send Me&quot; the Ray Charles
song. I would have liked to have heard one more at least from the
new album.

I rated the show a 4 out of 5 for the hits, his engaging self, and
the energy throughout.

			<title>The Searchers In Winnipeg</title>
			<link>http://www.guideto.info/igotoconcerts/content/view/144/2/</link>
			<description>

I am listening to a 1979 Searchers vinyl (Sire Records) as we
speak that I've found great enjoyment in for some time. Frank
Allan, John McNally, Billy Adamson and Mike Pender were the group
in 1979. A cutout record as we used to call it (small hole punched
in top left or right and discounted at the stores), it was a find.
This is from someone who remembered their hits from the 60's
(&quot;Sweets for my Sweet, Needles and Pins, Love Potion#9) but let
them be overshadowed by the Beatles as most of us did.

This is from the Club Regent casino website in Winnipeg. My kudos
to the kudos to the Casinos. Without them hoping to bring into
their establishment bored boomers looking for a little spark where
would we be in seeing some of the touring groups not on the A list
at the large venues. Eddie Money and band at $25 a ticket with 22
million tickets sold worldwide, was a great deal (and memorable
event in turned out) I thought. Now we have a $40 ticket here in
the same venue (421 seats) a couple months later. What's the
reasoning? Oh well, in the competition for our entertainment
dollar, it is up to us to decide.

from the website:

May 2
8:00 PM
$40

On Sale Date:
March 23

Formed in 1960 The Searchers were at one time second only to The
Beatles in popularity in Liverpool, with British # 1 hits, &quot;Sweets
For My Sweet&quot; (1963), &quot;Needles And Pins&quot; and &quot;Don't Throw Your
Love Away. Like other &quot;Merseybeat&quot; groups, they built up an
extensive repertoire of R B and rock 'n' roll songs. Their
distinctive jangling sound of a twelve string guitar and the rich
vocal harmonies have assured The Searches a lasting place in the
history of popular music. The Searchers, including members John
McNally, Frank Allen, Spencer James and Eddie Roth will bring back
the &amp;lsquo;Merseybest&amp;rsquo; to Club Regent, May 2nd.
